First-timers and regulars alike rave about the Signature Double Cheeseburger, crafted with perfectly seasoned beef, a tangy Dijonnaise, pickles, and American cheddar—all nestled within a soft bun. This culinary delight retails for only $10.99, striking the perfect balance between flavor and affordability.

What really sets Small Cheval apart, aside from its scrumptious burgers, is the friendly, efficient service. Whether you’re in a rush or taking your time, you can expect minimal wait times here. Somehow Au Cheval keeps getting added to people's list of best burgers in Chicago, but I'm convinced the only possible way is either that they've never actually had Au Cheval or that they've never actually had another burger. However, while going to Au Cheval is an overly expensive experience that you wait 3 hours for, only to walk away with an above average burger; you could instead go to Small Cheval, pay almost nothing, wait in line for 5 minutes, and also walk away with an above average burger. It's obviously not quite as high quality of a burger as Au Cheval, but honestly, the taste is pretty similar, and its price-to-quality ratio is so much better. The fries are also out of this world, the garlic aioli somehow makes them even better, and it's just the vibiest little spot. So whether you're wanting to try the Au Cheval flavor without wasting time and money, or you just need a burger asap, this is one of the best options on the north side

Best burger I've ever had. It was very late, before closing, so I am giving grace on service. Was handed the incorrect order, everyone seems rushed and short. It didn't jeopardize the flavor or quality. Well seasoned great balance of flavors and the fries were crispy! Very clean and organized inside.

Double cheeseburger was very good l. Quality burger for a great price. The fries were fresh and crispy, the solo aioli was incredible also. Would reccomend this place to any burger lover!

Cheval had been on my list of places to try since I don't know how long. So I had the opportunity to try it when I was doing a Bar Crawl. I knew I wouldn't get the chance to try it again so I gave it a try. It was late and we got there right as they closed and I really hate to do that but I didn't know what else I could grab to eat. Even though I came in close to close the staff was very nice and friendly. I ordered a Double Cheeseburger with No Onions or Pickles and fries. They told us about 15-20 mins. I ate most of my fries on the way home which were okay not anything to write home about but the burger was everything especially the sauce. One of my burgers was medium and the other was well done. I would have preferred them both be well done and my friend forgot to mention to me that Cheval cooks their burgers medium unless asked. Overall, I think that the food was good, Pricing was okay, and the service was excellent and would I be back. I've already been back because I had to see if it lived up to me having it cooked the way I liked and I can say it did!

Alright - it's time we address the elephant in the room. We've all heard the rumors that small cheval has gone downhill since expanding. I'm sure if that's true OR if it's just that so many other amazing burger places have opened up more recently, but the meal we had at this location wasn't **quite** as fantastic as usual. The burgers just weren't as mouthwateringly delicious as they usually are. They also weren't served super hot - which considering how slow this place was on this particular day, that's not ok. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this Wrigleyville location has a full bar unlike other locations - I'm used to doing a boozy shake as the primary option, usually! And for the biggest surprise of all... this place is gigantic! I hope they improve and get back up to par because I would like to see them continue to succeed and fill this huge location, even in the cubs off-season!

Hello Wrigleyville Small Cheval! Dad and I were going to our first Cubs game in 15 YEARS (!) and decided to stop for our favorite burger on the way to the game! Service was fast and friendly! The food- as always- was excellent! I love the nods to the cubs hidden around the space combined with Small Cheval's classic retro style! I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a classic eat before the big game!

Wow the burgers were amazing! Go for the pastrami from green street it was so moist. Our Server was very kind and knew the menu and what to get. Def get two bowls of fries for the table cause that garlic dip was excellent. Happy we came here not during the game cause it was not so loud and we got a table very easily.

I am so happy that Small Cheval has made their debut in Wrigleyville. I have loved their Old Town and Wicker Park location so it is nice to have one further North. This location is massive in comparison to the other two I have been to. They have enough seating that could easily accommodate large crowds of people during a busy Cubs season. During my visit I was able to easily find a seat at the bar but I had a lot of options to sit at a table. You seat yourself and use the QR code at the table to order your food. That helped to keep things moving quickly. If you seat at the bar the bartender can also take your order. I liked that you were able to get your drinks quicker. They have a ton of TVs for the folks that want to stay up-to-date on the various games taking place. I ordered the single cheeseburger along with fries to keep things simple. The restaurant was busy so the food took a little longer to come out but they brought out several orders at the same time so I assume a lot of it is made in larger batches. The burger was delicious but it gave very much White Castle patty size. The burger felt a little paper thin and it was mostly bun. I know Small Cheval is known to pricey since you buy everything à la carte but the burger felt thinner. They did give a fair amount of fries so it helped to make up for the thin burger. I will definitely come back but I will probably upgrade to the double cheeseburger!
